History Program - Adams Pack Station and the old camps of the San Gabriels In-Person

Ed Andersen, president of Arcadia Historical Society, gives a fun and interactive talk highlighting the Great Hiking Era, sharing the fascinating histories of Adams Pack Station, Peter Steil's tent camp near Wilson's Peak, the first resort in the San Gabriels established by "Commodore" Perry Switzer, Sturtevant Camp, Chantry Flat, and more! Adams Pack Station still  employs donkeys and mules to bring campers their supplies and vittles. It is the last of its kind in Southern California. 

Free! No registration required. Hikers, nature lovers, local history buffs - all are welcome!
